Process of Bailing Out Inmates

To post bail, contact the Pahrump Courts’ Clerk of Courts Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Those who want to post bail outside of normal days and hours can use the Inmate Canteen Kiosk, an automated system for accessing inmate accounts. The kiosk is located in the lobby of the Detention Center and accepts both cash and credit cards.

After posting bail through this kiosk, the individual must notify Detention Staff that bail has been posted.

How to Phone Inmates

Inmates at Pahrump Jail are not permitted to receive phone calls. They may, however, make outgoing collect calls or purchase phone time using cash on their commissary accounts. These calls are recorded.

Phone calls are generally limited to between 7:00 AM and 9:00 PM.

Jail Visitation Hours

There are two ways to visit inmates at the Pahrump Jail: on-site and remote visits.

On-site visiting schedule are from Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Note that these visits are conducted through a video monitor at the detention center.

You can also schedule remote, video visits from your computer or phone through JailATM. Just like phone calls, these video visits are also recorded.

Mailing to Inmates

To get an inmate’s “in custody number,” people can call the Pahrump Jail at 775-751-7027.

Friends and family can also send and receive e-messages through JailATM.

Releasing Property of Inmates

Property may be released to an outsider person provided that both parties fill out a form agreeing to the release.

Property not picked up within 30 days is considered abandoned.

How to Transfer Funds to Inmates

There are three ways to put money on an inmate’s books at the Pahrump Jail:

• In person: People may bring cash to the jail during visiting hours.
• Online: People can put money on an inmate’s commissary account at JailATM.
• By mail: All money, checks and money orders that come in with mail will go into the inmate’s account.

Shopping Privileges

Personal items, such as stationery, snacks, calling cards, and toiletries, are commonly purchased with money held in prisoners’ bank accounts at the Pahrump Jail commissary.
