Clark County Detention Center

If arrested for committing a crime in the Las Vegas limits of Nevada, he or she will likely be sent to the primary Las Vegas jail facility, Clark County Detention Center (CCDC), located at 330 South Casino Center Drive.

Individuals arrested and serving misdemeanor offenses within Las Vegas city limits are booked into the City of Las Vegas Detention Center.

Finding an Inmate at the Clark County Detention Center

To obtain information about inmates housed within the CCDC, call 702-671-3900. Alternatively, you may use the jail’s Inmate Search Page, the online search tool provided by the detention center. To search for an inmate held at this detention center, you search by last name, first name or inmate ID as the following link:

The information telephone line and detention center website also provide information on court dates, inmate’s bail amount, the nature of their case and visitation hours.

In order to access inmate information over the phone or through the web, you must provide one or more of the following information:

  • Inmate’s name (first, middle and last)
  • Inmate identification number
  • Case number

The jail will not reveal any information about an inmate if the person in custody is under protective custody due to safety concerns, or a minor under 18 years old.

Process of Bailing Out Inmates

Bail can be posted by the inmate upon booking at the Clark County Detention Center or by family members, friends or their representatives. A $50 filing fee must accompany the bond payment. The procedure for paying an inmates’ bail differs depending on whether their case is in Las Vegas Justice Court or in Clark County District Court.

How to Post Bail at Clark County District Court:

Bail will be accepted during normal business hours of 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

  • At The Regional Justice Center across from The Clark County Detention Center on Casino Center Blvd and Lewis.
  • Make cashier’s check or money order payable to Clerk of the Court, including the inmate’s name and I.D. #.
  • Personal checks are not accepted.

How to Post Bail at Las Vegas Justice Court:

  • Bail may be posted in person inside The Clark County Detention Center, at the Pretrial Services bail bond window.
    • Hours of operation: 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 a.m. (midnight), 7 days a week.
  • Cash payment accepted for the full and exact amount, up to $10,000.
  • Visa and MasterCard payment up to $10,000 accepted.
  • For cashier’s check or money order payable to the Las Vegas Justice Court, inmate’s name and I.D. # must be included.
  • Personal checks are not accepted.

To pay after hours with cash, visit the Pretrial Services bail bond window, inside the Clark County Detention Center.

How to Phone Inmates

An inmate at the Las Vegas Jail, or Clark County Detention Center, cannot receive phone calls unless it is an emergency, in which case the outside person may dial 702-671-5700. In the case of an emergency, The Clark County Detention Center will then verify if it is truly an emergency situation and whether a person in custody will receive the call.

To make outgoing calls, persons in custody may use CenturyLink to contact outsiders. The person receiving the calls is encouraged to set up an account with CenturyLink, by calling customer service at 1-888-506-8407. For cell phone users to receive collect calls, they must create an account.

Jail Visitation Rules and Hours

Most inmates are allowed only one visit a week. For maximum custody inmates, only one visit every two weeks is allowed. If inmates are pending disciplinary sanctions for rule violations, no visits are allowed until the violation has been fully resolved.

To visit an inmate at the Clark County Detention Center, the outside person must register in-person prior to the visit. This can be done at 330 South Casino Center Drive. To register, hr or she must present photo identification and provide their email address to the desk sergeant. Also, the visitor must also know the inmate’s I.D #, which can be searched for and found here:

Custody Search 

Visitors can register:

  • 7 days a week, between 7:30 a.m. – 11:00 p.m.

Once the visitor is registered, he or she may schedule the visit through the CCDC website (link to CCDC) or at kiosks located at the detention center.

Visitation Hours:

Monday through Friday: 7:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. – 11:30 p.m.

Saturday through Sunday: 7:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. – 11:30 p.m.

Note: all visits must be complete by the end of the visitation time window. All visitors under 18 years old have to be accompanied by an adult.

All receivables are searched for drugs and other impermissible items prior to delivering to the person in custody. The incoming mail which is not searched is correspondence from the inmate’s attorney. This must be clearly marked “legal mail.”

Packages will be returned unless the sender receives prior approval from the Bureau Lieutenant. To contact the Bureau Lieutenant, call 702-671-5700.

How to Transfer Funds to Inmates

All inmates at the Clark County Detention Center have trust accounts, a place where funds may be kept in their name. This money is typically used on their books to buy snacks and items through the jail’s commissary.

There are four different ways for an outside person to put money on a inmate’s books:

  • Credit or Debit Card
  • Money Orders
  • Inmate Money Releases

Credit or Debit Card Transfers

These transfers are typically posted within one day, except for weekends and holidays. To transfer money via credit or debit card, call 1-866-232-1899 or visit www.touchpaydirect.com. Money Orders

Money orders are typically posted within one business day, except for weekends and holidays.

To send by mail, address using the following information:

All money orders must be made payable to “CCDC Inmate Trust Account” and contain the inmate’s name and I.D. # somewhere on both the envelope and money order.

Personal checks, cashier’s checks and checks issued from businesses are not acceptable.

Inmate Money Releases

Inmates held in permanent housing at the Clark County Detention Center may not release funds in their account to an individual or private party. These funds may be released to a business or legal entity. CCDC inmates in booking may release funds from their account to a person, business, or legal entity outside. Inmates may not transfer funds to other inmates.

Funds can only be released Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m., excluding holidays. Funds must be held for 24 hours before they can be released.

To receive funds, outside person must show a valid government-issued I.D. with photo, such as a driver’s license or passport. 

Shopping Privileges

The Las Vegas Jail has a commissary, which is a general store where persons in custody may buy items through a catalog. The commissary makes a delivery once a week, depending on where the inmate is housed:

The commissary provides an assortment of goods for purchase, typically including a variety of snack foods, toiletries, reading materials and stationery.
